The new medication management standards published by the Joint Commission on the
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) offer hospital pharmacists exciting challenges
and opportunities. These stnadards, which are more prescriptive than those of the past, provide
hospital pharmacists with the backing they need to implement policies and procedures meant to achieve
unprecedented levels of patient safety.
In this video, recognized expertes come together to dicsuss the new JCAHO standards, to provide
an overview of their impact on medication management, and to explain the reshaping of the accreditation
process and how it will impact pharmacists.
