Welcome to the latest edition of Current Concepts in Pharmacy Management, the longstanding
educational series brought to you by an educational grant from Ortho Biotech.
Volume 20, Pharmacy’s Role in Perioperative Medicine, is the latest in this series of programs
designed to bring you cutting edge information from the field of pharmacy. In this
program, you will hear from pharmacy educators and practitioners about an exciting
growth area for clinical pharmacy practice – Perioperative Care. Practitioners who bring a
new level of care to the patient about to undergo surgery, those in surgery, and those in the
post-operative period are featured in this program. The importance of evaluating and
understanding the entire patient, their co-morbidities, risk factors and medical history, is
discussed in great detail. You will also learn about the contribution to care that pharmacists
are making today, and the contributions you can make in your practice setting as well.
